Veterinarian–Client Relationship & Mutual Respect Policy
At Jet’s Pet Hospital, we believe that excellent veterinary care depends on a relationship built on mutual trust, respectful communication, and a shared commitment to the health and well-being of your pet.
We understand that decisions involving a pet’s health can be stressful and emotional. We welcome questions, concerns, requests for clarification, and second opinions. We also respect every client’s right to raise concerns regarding the care or service they receive.
In return, we ask that clients communicate respectfully with our veterinarians and staff and allow our medical team to exercise appropriate professional judgment in caring for their pets.
There may be circumstances in which Jet’s Pet Hospital determines that the veterinarian-client relationship is no longer productive or that our hospital is no longer the appropriate practice to meet a client’s or patient’s needs. Examples may include:
-
A significant or ongoing breakdown in trust or communication;
-
Repeated hostile, abusive, threatening, or inappropriate interactions with members of our team;
-
Repeated inability to reach agreement regarding reasonable expectations for veterinary care or communication;
-
Repeated failure to follow hospital policies or agreed-upon treatment arrangements when doing so interferes with our ability to provide appropriate care;
-
Conduct that interferes with the care of patients, the operation of the hospital, or the safety and well-being of clients, patients, or staff; or
-
Other circumstances in which the veterinarian determines that continuing the professional relationship is no longer appropriate or in the patient’s best interest.
When appropriate, Jet’s Pet Hospital may discontinue a veterinarian-client relationship and recommend that the client establish care with another veterinary provider. When doing so, we will communicate the decision professionally and take reasonable steps consistent with applicable veterinary laws and regulations to facilitate continuity of care, including providing medical records upon request.
A client will not be dismissed merely for asking questions, expressing a concern, requesting medical records or a second opinion, posting a review, or exercising a lawful right to contact a regulatory agency.
Our goal is not simply to provide veterinary services, but to maintain relationships in which our clients, our team, and—most importantly—our patients can be well served.
